READING PHOTOS (3)
B. Photographer:Andrew Moore for TIME
C. Original Caption:
C. I love this photo because it shows the vast plains as being filled with life once again. It makes me happy and excited, because it almost feels like a modern day dinosaur is coming back to life(I've never seen a bison before, only in western movies and paintings). The only thing that I believe is "not so good" about the photo, is that it can't easily be deciphered without the caption.
E. If I were to live in this photograph, I would be pretty scared because I would be surrounded by huge and beautiful creatures. It would probably smell pretty bad, but I'd like to dig my hand into one of their wooly pelts; they look so soft. I think I would be pretty awe-struck considering i've never seen a Bison, let alone been in the middle of a herd.
C. Original Caption:
E. On the left, the color scheme caused by the police officers is grayscale, and almost seem menacing, while on the left, the woman's dress is green and the brightness of the landscape and tree behind her almost radiates warmth and calm. The vibrancy of the green gives the woman an almost supernatural, maternal aura.
E. What does this photograph remind you of? This photo reminds me of the things i've been taught in history class. This photo almost represents a modern day version of white settlers claiming land, and relocating Native people. Even today, the U.S. is waving away treaties to get land or services that they want.
C. In this photo, a black woman is standing peacefully while being detained by overly protected police officers. Because this photo was taken during a protest, I can assume that this woman broke from the crowd to walk calmly towards the officers. I came to this conclusion by looking at each person's body language and expression, as well as making assumptions based on the caption provided.
D. Other people should see this photograph because I believe it should become an iconic representation of the Black Lives Matter movement. It serves as a representation of the power behind each person's determination to receive the same kindness and respect.

C. What do you think is worth remembering about this photograph? I believe a major part about this photo that deserves to be remembered, is the fact that even today, Native American tribes are struggling to keep the land that was supposed to be reserved for them. U.S. officers are standing almost like a wall in attempts to the Lakota riders to submit.
D. Based off of the caption, I can assume that the ceremonial horse introduction is a form of peaceful protest, at least in this scenario. If I were one of the officers, I would be afraid, not only of the horses, but also of the cause that I would be supporting. By the way the horses are positioned, I feel like they (the horses) are probably spooked and nervous.
